No. Entering your battery percentage manually works fully. A Bluetooth OBD-II adapter is optional and only adds live state-of-charge instead of manual entry.

No, never. The OBD connection only ever reads diagnostic data. The set of diagnostic requests it can send is fixed at the transport layer and cannot be widened by any server update or downloaded profile.

Yes. Nearby chargers, live battery/range, and navigation handoff are available on your car's display, using your car's real GPS position.

No, with one opt-in exception: if you set a home location, EV Pilot registers a background geofence around that point to detect overnight home charging automatically. This only runs if you've explicitly set a home location, and can be turned off in Settings. See our privacy policy.
